Option to Retain Notes Across Document Versions

Currently, notes are version-dependent: When a user creates a new version of a document, the notes from previous versions are no longer visible. However, there are use cases where this behavior is not desired.

When configuring a document class, the setting “Retain annotations” allows you to control whether annotations persist across versions. A similar option — such as “Retain notes” — should be available to manage the visibility of notes in the same way.
