If you import a pdf, the existing annotations actually remain visible in the pdf, but are not recognized as annotations and are not editable in Doxis WebCube.
The same applies to annotations that were made in Doxis WebCube and then downloaded and uploaded again.
Currently only export of pdf with annotations is possible, no import.
This leads to massive problems when working with annotations in pdfs.
Doxis annotations are related to an annotation layer laid on top of a document page. So the Doxis annotations are not part of the document content and can be used for a large number of document types when using the Doxis HTML5 Viewer. In case of exporting a document to pdf the annotations can optionally be rendered (printed) into the pdf document. As a result it is not possible to re-import these back into Doxis. If editing annotations outside of Doxis is needed you should use PDF annotations. These are part of the pdf document and can be edited with a pdf editor like Adobe Acrobat. In this case changes need to be updated in Doxis by overwriting or versioning the existing document content.
