If you need to organize a document into multiple documents, the document organizer window is not suitable. Even if you place the organization window on the right side, the document view becomes smaller and less usable.
A revision of the document organization window (possibly with the document display undocked) would be desirable.

could you please provide a screen shot from a typical document orgnization window and a more detailed description about the problems here?
Have you considered to hide the document display?
You can use the buit in zoom function for the thumbnail. Press [STRG]+(SHIFT) and the left mouse button on a thumb.
